February 2012 - Mercier Kelly & Family

We are doing well.  I just celebrated my 37th birthday (Happy Birthday to Mindy, too!) and had a very nice, relaxing family meal.  It was wonderful and nice to have as a change.  There is nothing new on the divorce front.  I am still awaiting the decision on the jurisdiction between the states.  I will be very happy when that is in my rearview mirror.  I am starting a 6 week long-term substitute position for a lady going on maternity leave.  It is for a kindergarten class and I hope it goes well.  Hopefully it will look good on a resume so I can get a JOB!!  Besides subbing I started working at IKEA in December.  It is pretty amazing that I can work part-time and get full benefits.  It is really a great company.  So, that is what I am up to...work, work, work.

Jilina is doing well. She is very active with softball and I love being able to assistant coach on her team.  She is taking pitching lessons and doing really well.  She also loves playing third and catching.  She wants to get active in volleyball also.  She loves it and with her height it is a no brainer.  I am 5'4" and she is only 1/2 inch shorter than me, at 10!  Thankfully she takes after her dad in that regard.  She is also active with her school orchestra playing the violin and is very artistic.

December 2011 - Mercier, Kelly & Jilina

The month of November found Jilina and I moving in with the Wilcox clan.  While we are grateful for Grandma's generosity in letting us stay with her, we are glad to be out of Utah county and in Salt Lake county.  Jilina has done well with adjusting to yet another school.  Jilina has been staying busy with orchestra where she plays the violin, softball where she plays 3rd and pitches, and swim team with Alexis.  We hope to add art lessons, volleyball and basketball in the future. 

 I have been substitute teaching and looking for a permanent teaching position.  I am in the process of divorce from Cesar and in a holding pattern with the courts for now.  I hope to have that settled soon.  We had a wonderful Thanksgiving with family this year and look forward to a fantastic Christmas.  We hope everyone has the same.

September 2011 - Mercier, Kelly & Jilina

Jilina and I have been doing well.  Jilina just turned 10 and looks about 12.  I just bought her sneakers that are a women's size 11!!  She is most definitely going to be tall.  She is entering 5th grade and playing softball, basketball, volleyball, violin and piano.  I am applying for teaching jobs and will substitute teach if nothing comes along.  It is wonderful living around family and we are very happy we came here.

March 2011 - Mercier, Kelly & Jilina

Dear Family,

This has been a very stressful and crazy month but relieving too.  Unfortunately, Cesar and I have separated.  I left on the 21st.  Jilina flew with my mom to UT and my dad drove with me across the country.  Jilina and I are living with my mom and hoping to create a new life for ourselves.  I am sure it will probably turn into a nasty divorce but am hoping it can be solved amicably.  Jilina is very happy to be here and that is the most important thing to me.  I am hoping that everyone is doing well.
