March 2011 - Executive Office of Ken Woodward
Dear family,
The Executive Office operated in a semi-vacation mode during February to celebrate the shorter month and to recognize the 279th birthday of George Washington, so we have little to report.
Two highlights are worth mentioning. The first, and extremely important, was the birth of Seth Daniel Wilcox, and the second, the surfacing of Aaron, the importance of which is in the eyes of the beholder.
Levi tells me he is gearing up for a successful family March Madness contest, and Tammy will be devoting full time studying the teams’ mascots to determine the strength of each of the 64-team entries. We have an exciting month ahead.

March 2011 - Bos, Kristy

It has been about six weeks since Rick's passing. I was able to get through the funeral arrangements, etc, being able to make decisions and remembering minute details. Now that has passed, my mind has turned to flubber and I spend an inordinate amount of time looking for my glasses or remembering family names. However, I am doing quite well, considering. Tuesday, Jan 4th I start the Winter Semester at BYU teaching my two sections of TELL 400 (Teaching English to Language Learners,
I think!)
It is good to be back to my normal routine. I am looking forward to life settling down a bit, even though there are those pesky details that one has to take care of. The good news is that when it is my time to go, someone else will get to handle those pesky details. I will be smiling the whole time.
February Contribution
It is now the end of February and much has happened. I have been sick for over five weeks with Vertigo, Stomach Flu, and yet another Viral Infection, with a few relapses in between. I'm sick and tired of being sick and tired. So much for that.
On February 23rd John and I flew to New York where I gathered up Jilina and flew back to SLC ( in 24 hours.) John then helped Kelly finish her packing and they drove across, country back to SLC. That took three days. Kelly and Jilina are now living with me. Needless to say, Kelly and Cesar will be divorcing. I will let Kelly say any more when she is ready.
Right now we are all sick. I think Kelly gave me the last viral infection that she has been sick with for several weeks. We are attempting to unpack her things, and find a new home for them at my house. What we can't fit into my house will go into Todd and Sarah's basement. I think it is safe to say that both Jilina and Kelly are relieved and very happy to be in Utah with all of their family. It is also safe to say that all of her family are both relieved and delighted to have them here with us.

March 2011 - Cannon, Aaron & Mindy & Family

February saw Jakob complete his first season of basketball. It was also an undefeated season where he got his first championship trophy. It got me to thinking...how many championship trophies do the Sacramento Kings have? Oh ya, zero. So lets see here. Jakob 1. Kings 0. That's too bad....for the Kings.
February also saw Hannah Grace kick Buzz Lightyear to the curb. Well, actually the costume finally fell apart. She's moved on to regular clothes for now. As long as I can keep her away from princess dresses I think well be ok.
Mindy got herself into a baking class that is held across the street and she loves it. You know who doesn't love it? My cholesterol.
With basketball season ending (did I mention they went undefeated and won the championship?) baseball season is upon us. I once had a friend ask why we "make" Jake do all these sports. The answer is simple. First, he likes it. Second, if he wasn't doing sports he would be sitting in front of the Xbox all day. And then I would be forced to join him because the reality is that's all I want to do too. Then we would be homeless, except for the Xbox, I would make sure to bring that with us. So if you think of it that way youth sports have kept us from being homeless. Isn't that nice?

March 2011 - Haupt, Levi & Torrie & Family
February was a short, rough month. We spent two weekends in Portland, OR supporting various events in the Haupt family. Levi's younger sister Rebekah is getting married and she had a bridal shower and I tried to get some ideas out of her for her wedding cake that I have offered to do. I said "tried", its overwhelming and a few details need to still be worked out, pictures will probably come in the May newswire, IF I have success. The other weekend was dedicated to supporting the newest Bishop in the McMinnville Oregon Stake, Levi's Dad. As a veteran bishop "brat" I tried to coax Levi's youngest sibling Hannah, into wearing a nose-ring to church, to no avail, some people just don't know how to have fun.
Valentine's was fun, the girls enjoyed the scavenger hunt to their goodies so much I am sure it will be a yearly event. Charlotte enjoyed her chocolate ( of course! ) and I am excited for my "basics of chocolate" book, too bad you all don't live closer I could use some more testers.....
One of the rougher events was on Monday the 21st, a supposed vacay day, that Levi had to work and the girls and I went Visiting Teaching. At the end of the appointment Charlotte fell and chipped her front teeth. We took her on Wednesday morning, the 23rd, once the swelling had gone down to the dentist to see what damage had been done. besides the cosmetic damage of the chip, no other damage is apparent at the moment. She has a follow up in May, Her mouth has been more sensitive this month, especially since that wednesday afternoon she fell again hitting more of her lips than her teeth, She had a FAT lip for the rest of the day and it was even harder to understand her.
That's been our month, the weather is getting warmer and Emma is getting excited to be a "whole hand" next month. We love you all.

March 2011 - McClintock, Robert & Susan
February started out with Justin and Emily visiting for a weekend when Emily and Justin came to Berkeley for more MBA considerations. They did not bring Rocco. It appears that poor Rocco could not take one more long-distance car ride after traveling all the way across the country twice last year. We didn't get a report on how the Kitty Hotel accommodations were received by Rocco but no news is good news, right?
Uncle Kevin reported last month that Ward Conferences were and are occupying his Sundays and the same is true for Aunt Susan. There must be some church rule that Ward Conferences have to be executed during the first half of the year north of the LA Basin longitude. But Aunt Susan couldn't find that rule in Part 2 of the new handbook…it must be in Part 1
.
Allergies have ramped up this month. The feathery yellow flowers of the Acacia tree are doing their best to afflict and torment. Speaking of torment, Aunt Susan spent a few hours on a Saturday in February with 'America's Got Talent" wannabes. The producers of the NBC show sought for talent (that definition is used loosely) by running auditions in Sacramento. The television station hosted the auditions and Aunt Susan's department was in charge so Aunt Susan spend several hours corralling and wrangling talent hopefuls. For those interested in how this was done: the hopefuls had ninety seconds to stand before a camera and "do their thing". Their audition was recorded on a min-dvd. The mini-dvd was then packaged up with the other audition recordings and sent to the producers of the show. That's it. If a hopeful muffed their audition there was no starting over, no correcting their mistake for a clean restart, no back-button, no rewind, no erase. There were approximately 400 auditions and some pretty outrageous costumes. The most memorable audition was the flame-thrower guy who could not understand why the Fire Marshall absolutely refused to permit him to light-up his act. The most stupid audition was the unicycle kid who crashed into a fifteen foot wall of glass because he couldn't steer.

March 2011 - Mercier, Kelly & Jilina
Dear Family,
This has been a very stressful and crazy month but relieving too. Unfortunately, Cesar and I have separated. I left on the 21st. Jilina flew with my mom to UT and my dad drove with me across the country. Jilina and I are living with my mom and hoping to create a new life for ourselves. I am sure it will probably turn into a nasty divorce but am hoping it can be solved amicably. Jilina is very happy to be here and that is the most important thing to me. I am hoping that everyone is doing well.

March 2011 - Slade, Jeff & Crystal & Family
Well, lets, see. We are all looking forward to the end of the school year (hmm what does that say when it is only March.) Jeff is still working at Sears part-time while he is getting IPA started. We are praying this job is successful, he has sure been through alot....and the guy has an MBA and speaks 3 languages!!! I still work at the local school district as a psychologist. This year has been rough for my kids for different reasons. Mathew has had the best year of all of them. Felicity has her ups and downs, it is hard to watch her hurt. And Andrew hates school. I think he is just too young. But everyday it is a fight to go. For now we have moved him from full time to part time (Kindergarten) but come fall we have some tough decisions to make. But at the end of the day, I am grateful for my little family. My favorite things are to snuggle with Andrew, or to watch a show with Mathew, or to have a beauty session with Felicity. The best things in life are the simplest.

March 2011 - Wilcox, Todd & Tracy & Family
Dear family,
February was a great month full of surprizes for the Wilcox family. My dad turned 70 years old this month/year, and I decided to throw him a party. To my surprize and excitement both of my sisters were able to attend. As part of the celebration, we were all able to go to a temple endowment session with my dad. It is the first time every child was able to be together and attend a session with my dad. It was very special! I hope it may happen again.
Seth is now 4 weeks old and he is still cute! (And Aaron I still love him to death so here's to hoping he doesn't turn out like Adam ;). The other kids have started swim lessons again and I am still on maternity leave, Yaaa! It has been nice pretending to be a real "stay at home" mom. We will see how long that lasts...

Dear Family:
February was a good month, but it didn't provide a great deal on which to report. That's what comes with the short month. Tammy and I had the chance to attend the BYU-Air Force basketball game on February 9 that was played here at the Clune Arena. It was a sellout crowd. Although there were numerous fans there to support BYU (attendance at the game from our stake alone rivaled that of stake conference), the opposing fans were prepared to give Jimmer Fredette that on which he seems to thrive: heckling. Fast forward to the end, the final score sums the evening up nicely - BYU 90 Air Force 52. We were thrilled. However, I did find myself having to put on my LaVell Edwards face when it came to expressing my emotions during the game, since a vast number of stake members, at least two of our Young Single Adults wards, are staunch Air Force fans.
We, along with many of you, had a chance to attend the Worldwide Leadership Training Broadcast that was held on February 12, the follow-up to that which was provided in November 2010.
