I know, he was technically born in February but we can't help but celebrate, so glad he's here!

February 2011 - Executive Office of Ken Woodward
Dear Family,
Has anyone seen Aaron lately? When he doesn’t report in after a few months I begin to wonder if he’s in jail or deceased. I tend to lean toward the former.
These monthly reports seem to be getting closer and closer together. I could probably get by this month with just resubmitting an earlier report with only changing the date.
The boy’s school is operating on the usual level, either regrouping from a recent holiday/vacation, or preparing for a new one. While February 21 is celebrated this year nationwide as “President’s Day”, our school calls it “President’s Week” and will honor it accordingly. If the weather wasn’t so cold I’d move to Franklin. There the kids go to school only 4 days a week. If I’d been born 80 years later than I was that place would have been Camelot to me, even though I was no Sir Galahad when I was there. It was a rare week that I was not mugged at least twice.
During the month I acquired some new domestic help. This is the third. I hope she stays longer than the first two. The first just disappeared and became the subject of the TV serial, “Without a Trace.” She was recommended to me by Kristy. Then Kristy disappeared. The second, who I located on my own, departed leaving me with a hug and a small box of miniature donuts. The donuts were better than the hug. She said she was moving to Minnesota. But I soon reconciled. Anyone moving from California to Minnesota probably needed to be in an institution. It’s almost as cold there as Colorado Springs. How long Wendy stays is uncertain. Her decision to come back proves the truthfulness of those immortal words in that 150 year old ballad, “Home, Sweet Home.” “Mid pleasures and palaces though we may roam. Be it ever so humble, there’s no place like home.”
We had an excellent stake conference . The congregational hymn which really delighted me because of its place on the program was “God Be With You ‘Till We Meet Again” Have you noticed that in church we never use that as the opening hymn? Sometimes I think we should.
Maybe next month I’ll have some wisdom to dispatch to you. That is, if Aaron makes an appearance in the meantime.

February 2011 - Cannon, Aaron & Mindy & Family
Dear Family,
January has been an unusually traumatic time for the Cannon's. You see, Buzz Lightyear is transitioning out of her Buzz costume (which she has worn every day since Halloween......EVERY.........DAY......) and into her Spiderman costume. She's such a little lady! Jakob is currently playing basketball and baseball. Mindy is busy with young womens and her budding baking career. And I do nothing. Just how I like it.
On the bright side...we have had a banner three weeks for surf swell! This of course only affects those of you who live west of the 5. The rest of you can console yourselves by rooting for the Kings or the Jazz. Misguided choices all.

February 2011 - Haupt, Levi & Torrie & Family
Hello everyone!
We’re still happily living in Mukilteo, WA with no current plans to move, shocking, I know. This month we added to our family in the way of another vehicle, Levi purchased a ’96 Toyota Tacoma extended cab that has been affectionately named “Jr.” or “Cougar truck” by BYU’s biggest fan. This gives mom and the girls a little more freedom which is nice and we’re enjoying in the form of being housebound by colds….. it was bound to happen sometime. But I am very grateful that this isn’t the same as the last two winters where we were sick for about four months straight, I’ll take a 10-day bout any day.
I was also able to visit Utah at the end of the month for a friend’s wedding, it was good to see her so happy and to meet her wonderful new husband.
We’re excited for warmer weather to hoepfully come soon,so we can be outside more, but its so pretty here its easy to enjoy just looking out my windows.
We are currently looking into purchasing a home (so we can set up roots, and be done with the transcontinental moves), we’ll let you know how it goes.
I also volunteered to bake and decorate Levi’s sister’s wedding cake, in April, we’ll let you know how that goes too. Gotta get practicing, too bad you all don’t live closer you could sample my practice rounds….. oh well!

January, in Aunt Susan's world, included an evening of nighttime photography in Old Sacramento, a brief afternoon of taking pictures in the dreary foothills, and trying to capture phantom images in the fog at a cemetery. (Pictures of a cemetery in the fog are not spooky…….just lifeless!)
It was another quiet month. Love all your Facebook contributions; especially the fabulous pictures of the children, and Aunt Carol's tales of the third grade are memorable! Recently Aunt Susan spent three days at the television station discarding a single file drawer full of old files. The task could have taken two minutes to simply remove the folders and place them in a trash can so that the filing cabinet could be removed, but once Aunt Susan realized the significance of the contents of the drawer she took a different approach. The file folders contained examples of Aunt Susan's work from 1977 through 1993. Rather than simply toss them out Aunt Susan decided to retain samples of her work for posterity. (It was also a reminder that once computers entered the television station things changed for Aunt Susan.) Uncle Bob taught Aunt Susan most of what she knows about computers, therefore, when computers came along Aunt Susan became increasingly involved with training her department personnel about the use of their computers and developing computer related systems to increase the efficiency of the department. Unfortunately it also meant Aunt Susan became less and less involved in the creative nature of the work. This is not to suggest that computers are bad. Aunt Susan loves what the digital age has brought to the world: the Church website, online scriptures, online audio of the scriptures, online conversations about the scriptures, church genealogy access, church videos, church worldwide assistance, and worldwide communication of the Church's message, our family on Facebook, Twitter, Buzz, and THIS BLOG SPOT!

February 2011 - Scott, Carlon & Kimber & Family
Hello all,
Nothing much is going on lately. Just same ol' same ol'.
The IVF didn't take so we are back to the drawing board. ( Anyone got an extra $14000 on them?)
President Uchdorf, randomly showed up at our ward this Sunday. He was there to see the newly remodeled Visitors Center and something regarding airplanes, I believe. I told him how Uncle Kevin was my uncle and he spoke very warmly of the event.
OK, I am doing a really crazy HcG diet to loose the $14000 of IVF hormone fat left on my body and have no more energy to type anymore.
So hope all is well.

February 2011 - Wilcox, Todd & Tracy & Family
We're doing well this month and are hoping to have a baby very soon. I finally have the house in order and my last day of work is Saturday! He can finally come... that is after Saturday! I'm excited but a little scared! Some days I think "what am I doing going back to diapers and bottles!"

We are pleased to announce the birth of our third and final child... Seth Daniel Wilcox. He was born Feb 2, 2011...aka Groundhog's Day! He was 8 lbs 9 oz and 19 inches long. It was an easy labor without any complications. We are loving every moment with him and hope he will let us sleep soon! I am way too old to be staying up all night with a baby! Once he gets his days and nights figured out I'm pretty sure he will be perfect!

February 2011 - Woodward, Kevin & Tammy & Family
Dear Family:
January was a time of continued recuperation for Tammy. She is doing well and slowly getting back to her normal activities.
We had a surprise visit from Alexis, Maija and Averie. At least it was a surprise for Tammy. Alexis and I had a chance to huddle and work out the details behind the scenes, such that Tammy had not a clue. We had a wonderful time together during the week they were here. All too soon the visit came to an end.
This time of year is always very busy at church. We have had three ward conferences in January, and three more scheduled for February. We will have had eleven in total by the time we conduct all of the ward conferences in the stake. This is also a time when we process missionary applications for the cadets at the Air Force Academy. I typically get a chance to interview about 30 cadets each year for this purpose. Once they receive their call, I interview them again to receive a temple recommend. We have an additional 35 young men and women from the family wards who we send on missions each year. However, those interviews aren't quite as concentrated over a short period of time as are those with the cadets.
I slipped away one Friday night in January and enjoyed a winter encampment with the young men of the stake up in the Sangre de Cristo mountains about 80 miles to the south of us. We had 187 young men and about 60 adult leaders in attendance. We used our stake Girl's Camp. The young women have full reign of the camp in the summer. They are just fine with turning it over to the young men during the winter.
