Nothing much is going on lately. Just same ol' same ol'.

The IVF didn't take so we are back to the drawing board. ( Anyone got an extra $14000 on them?)

President Uchdorf, randomly showed up at our ward this Sunday. He was there to see the newly remodeled Visitors Center and something regarding airplanes, I believe. I told him how Uncle Kevin was my uncle and he spoke very warmly of the event.

OK, I am doing a really crazy HcG diet to loose the $14000 of IVF hormone fat left on my body and have no more energy to type anymore.

December 2010 - Scott, Carlon & Kimber & Family

So not a lot to talk about, quite yet. I always have a hard time thinking of things that are interesting in my life that are worth mentioning. We did just finish putting up our Christmas tree. The tree is about 6 feet tall and about 4 feet around. It takes up almost all of our floor space. However, Carlon and Mimi love it and it is pretty so I will am just going to have to put up with sucking in my gut and tip-toeing around it to be able to get into the kitchen.

For some of you, you know that Carlon and I have been saving up to do the IVF fertility treatment for the last 3 years. We finally completed it and after 3 days of bedrest and then 10 days of waiting they took my blood to find out if I am pregnant. The results are that I am “kind of “ pregnant. For most of you, the traditional thought about pregnancy is that you either are or are not pregnant, well, in my case, I am calling it “kind of,” “sort of,” “mostly” pregnant. The doctor told me that although I am pregnant, I am not out of the woods, as they want your HCG levels to be at 100 and mine are only at 30. They are increasing my progesterone levels to hopefully improve that. I told the doctor that it took me 7 weeks and 3 pregnancy tests to find out I was pregnant with Mimi. The doctor said “well I guess your embryos take a while to fully implant themselves.” So this is why I say that I am “kind of “ pregnant. So I will find out next week what the blood tests say and will give you the update next month.

August 2010 - Scott, Carlon & Kimber & Family

Well it has been a while since I have contributed to the newswire, but I am awake at 4 in the morning so I figured I should do something with my time. The summer kind of feels like it is just beginning for me although it is shortly coming to a close. The whirlwind that was Stake Youth Conference and Stake Girls Camp, that occurred only 2 1/2 months apart was successfully completed and it only took me about 2 weeks to feel completely rested afterward. Although, I complain about the lack of rest that occurred during these events it was definitely worth it. It is always wonderful to see the youth bond and grow spiritually.

I have my 20 year class reunion next Saturday and after 6 weeks of looking for a really great dress, I found it! Now, I am frantically trying to find the proper accessories to go with it. Oh, the trivial worries we women put ourselves through.

Anyway, in September Mimi starts Kindergarten and she is out of her mind, excited about it. I can’t wait, as I won’t have to pay for Pre-school anymore.

We are very excited, as well, as Kelly and Jilina will be visiting us in a few days it is so fun to have them visit us in California. Well, that is all that I can think of for right now. Hope all is well with everyone.

Hi all,

I am writing my entry before I go see my family in Utah. Therefore, I am not reporting on what fun I know I am going to have there. I am doing it now because I actually got time to do it and have Carlon sitting next to me to show me how to add this video clip to my entry. Getting up on stage and singing a solo is my nightmare, but Mimi loves it. The real fun is that we had no idea what she was going to sing. Her song was improvised by her and the pianist, on the spot. Hope your Christmas and New Years were great.

Hi from Kimber, Carlon and Mimi Scott,

Unfortunately there is nothing new going on, over here on the "Westside." We are in a constant state of waiting. Therefore, to hopefully break this state, I decided to go back to work. So I will wait to see the benefits of this choice as well. The only new thing that is going on, is that our stake is so desperate for leadership that they called me to be the Stake YW President. I hope I don't screw up too many girls in the process. Anyway, hope all is well.

Although I am still waiting for something interesting to happen in my life, I am writing you none the less. Although not necessarily good news, it is news. Carlon and I finally found out what we are going to have to do to have another child. . . .IVF. So once I can fork out, at least $12,000. We can get pregnant again. The doctor said that either Mimi was a miracle or something has drastically changed since 4 years ago. So those of you who are conceiving children (on purpose or by accident) for free, by greatful. At least when your children are teenagers you won't have to wonder why you paid $12,000 to have them. We are still trying to get things going with our house in Alta Dena. The contractor is finally available, but now we will see if the economy will afford us the ability to use him.

My dad and I also had an enjoyable time in Sacramento for the baby blessing of Kaitlyn, Todd and Sarahs' baby. We also had Emily and Justin over for Thanksgiving to stuff ourselves, which is always fun- oh, how I love "cheat days." Aaron and Mindy opted out of joining us, for fear that the Prop 8 protestors would get them (the cowards.)

This month Carlon, Mimi and I went to Utah for the BYU Homecoming game. We were also able to participate in their 5K run, which was fun, but the change in altitude definitely made it more difficult for us as we ran it. Luckily, we were still able to beat our times from last year. While we were up in Utah, we stayed with Tracy and Todd and had a lot of fun watching Mimi and Alexis get dressed up in their princess outfits and the whole process of becoming a princess (do your hair, nail polish, perfume, etc.) It was very cute.

Right now, I am a single mom as Carlon stayed up in Utah to finish work on a Provo house we bought to flip. So for the next 3 weeks I am on my own with Mimi. Interestingly the house stays cleaner, but my patience is wearing thinner. Hope all is well with everyone.

Well, I fear that my report for this month will be the same as my two sisters being that Kelly and Tracy and family were in California this month. Kelly and family were here for the full month which was awesome! However, now Mimi and I are in withdrawal, we have no one to swim with at my dads house now. Tracy and family were here for just one week. We managed to fit in Disneyland twice, Hurricane Harbor, Universal Studios and outlet shopping in Camarillo (fun but exhausting.) I think I need a vacation from this vacation. During the course of this month we became Phase 10 junkies. For those of you who have never played Phase 10, be forewarned, once you start you can't stop. I was also introduced to Disneys "High School Musical" movie which I thought was cute, but more importantly Mimi finds very entertaining as she stands in front of the TV, JAMMING to the the music, it's hilarious! It was a great month.

Hello All,

It has been a few months since we have checked in, but that is because there wasn't much to report. Well, today (Tuesday 5/22) I received a hone call from my sister, Kelly, and she asked me if I had watched the American Idol Finale show yet and what did I think? I was able to tell her, "yes," I had seen the show because I was actually there, live! My friends husband who works for American Idol, had extra tickets and gave them to me (because they are going to the Wednesday night Finale show.) It was really fun. The singers sound better in person.

The other significant event in our lives that took one full year in the making, is that we finally got our permits for our house in Alta Dena. This means that we have the O.K. to start construction on the house, not that we have actually started construction on the house. So hopefully we have a larger place to move into by the beginning of next year. I am getting a little fed up with the house rule that with whatever new thing we bring into our one bedroom apt. we have to get rid of another thing. Space, what is that like?

The only news I have regarding Mimi is that she has learned how to tell me "STOP" (fabulous) as well as entertaining us with her dancing to just about any music she hears.

February 2007

So we finally got out of jail, cashed in some of our monies in our secret offshore bank accounts and decided to reenter civilization. Those of you reading this will realize why I have not submitted any entries for so long. Because I am boring! I also do not have the gift for witty writing. So besides the fact that my life is pretty boring my writing will not help. But if you have chosen to continue to read on this is what is going on in our lives down here in LA (luckily on the westside of I-5) which allows for occasional visits from our relatives in San Diego.
Well, we have now surpassed the one year mark in waiting for Los Angeles County to OK our permits to remodel our house in Alta Dena (close to Pasadena, CA.) The frustrating part is that we keep getting new requests for changes to our plans. Why they can't just give us all the changes at one time, I'll never know!!! Carlon and I just say to ourselves it's OK as long as we don't spend one more Christmas in our one bedroom apartment. Oh yeah, we have been saying that to ourselves for the past two Christmases now. Oh well, we feel blessed that we were actually lucky enough to find and purchase a house in California with how expensive things can get here.
Putting the house frustrations aside, life has been very good. I don't work full time anymore, I just see one or two private patients once or twice a week so the stress level is much better. My dad and I have decided with his retired life and my more flexible life we should be able to find time to see each other, so every Monday he and I get together, which has been great.
Carlon is still doing contract work with computer stuff , but most of his time is spent working on his work with "Empire" the company he and his two partners started. Things are progressing well for Empire but on a fairly regular basis it has Carlon traveling across the country.
Mimi is doing well, growing fast and keeping me running. As some of you know I had a short stint, in High School, on the track, team as a sprinter and was even known to win a few races. However, I still have some difficulty keeping up with her - literally. She is 19-20 months old and it seems like in the last few weeks the verbal doors finally opened. She is finally able to simply express her needs and understand ours, which sure makes things easier. Ahhhh, communication.

So here are some pictures of the new little creature (AKA Emalisse, AKA Mimi). As Carlon and I were looking at these pictures we thought to ourselves, "Gosh these pictures sure make here look like a calm little angel." Let me reassure you she is not. My sisters can rest assured that I got a child similar to my childhood demeanor. I now have to avoid milk products (which means no ice cream!) and chocolate in large amounts (why do chocolate in small amounts?) If I avoid these things her stomache is much happier and therefore so are we. Well sorry it took us so long to get this off, but as I am sure many of you know this whole parenthood thing is making our brains a little mushy and so we get things done a bit more slowly now.

July 2005

(Obtained via telephone interview) - A brand new baby girl was born into the Scott family: Emalise (we are still seeking confirmation of the correct spelling.) "She was almost 8 lbs., 20 inches long; lots of dark hair (typical of the Christiansen family - grows out dark, falls out, grows back.) Eyes are still blue; cute when not crying, and crying is not so cute." Mom was in labor for 18 hours. Additional details and pictures will be forthcoming.
