March 2012 - Cannon, Aaron & Mindy & Family

Dear Family and Grandpa:

You would think that facebook banter would soon take the place of the newswire but alas....I hear grandpa has forgotten his password so we must continue to rely on archaic means of passing information. The month of February has seen the start of baseball season in the Cannon home. Jakob is coming off his first ever all star season and expectations are unrealistically high. This will be the first season of "kid pitch" whereas in seasons past he has been hitting off a pitching machine. Mindy and I are alllllll ready for 3 hour 2 inning games with 2342334 walks and 2343235 runs.

Hannah will be starting tee ball this month as well. She has been ready for this for at least 3 years. Finally she is on the road to earning her keep.

Mindy continues to co-chair the bake sale where the Loma Portal Bake Sale committee finds itself in a pitched battle with Michelle Obama over bake sale regulations. That's right fellow communists....the feds are trying to shut down the bake sale. Why you ask? Because they can't regulate what comes out of mama's kitchen and therefore have decided that the most sound and courageous course of action is immediately closure. How will the school continue to pay for it's music program, physical education program, and librarian you ask? Michelle is gonna cut us a check.....I'm sure.

What am I doing you ask? Good question. I took the opportunity this last weekend to run the "tough mudder" event here in southern california. This was a 12 mile military grade obstacle course complete with electrified obstacles that send 10k volts coursing through your brain if you are unlucky enough to come in contact with the random live wire. Also included are "monkey bars" that are covered in grease and twist, a swim through ice water (as in ice.....and water) jumping off stuff, crawling through.....stuff...and other various and sundry goodies. I recommend going on over to the website and checking it out. Other than that...exactly.

November 2011 - Cannon, Aaron & Mindy & Family

Tjena!

As we leave October behind and the sad passing of my 40th birthday I would be remiss if I didn't spend at least a brief moment reflecting. I have two thoughts I would like to share.  1)  If you were born before
me you are WAY over 40.  2)  If your name is Kimber you are almost 40.
Good times!

Speaking of birthday parties a quick head count at mine indicated that 15 adults and 30 children were in attendance.  What?!  Draw your own conclusions.  The word "Mormon" should be in there somewhere.

November will bring us a continuation of The Boys football season which includes his first ever playoff experience.  After every win Mindy and I look at each other and sigh...*another week of this*  Dont get me
wrong, it's been fun......3-5x a week......since the BEGINNING OF JULY.....for YOUTH FOOTBALL!
If only my Cowboys practiced this hard maybe they could beat a team that isn't already horrible.

November will also see the (real) Cannon family travel to Fresno for Thanksgiving.  In trying to decide what to do for Thanksgiving neither Mindy or I could remember why we don't go to Fresno anymore.  That
tells me it might be time to go!  Christmas  will likely see us in Utah.  The difference there of course is that I CAN tell you why I don't like going to Utah! (It begins with C and ends with old.)

Usually at this time of year Professional Basketball is in full swing. This year, it is not.  This is great news for Sacramento Kings fan because they are not out of the running yet!  Until they actually start playing games, the Kings will have a chance.

Mindy continues to co-chair the schools bake sale which means I pay for ingredients and then I pay for items at the bake sale.  That, dear family, is the OPPOSITE of a double dip.  Unless you look at it from the Schools perspective.  They are double dipping from me!
Jakob got a reprieve from his classroom of 35 into a classroom of 25.  Hannah has a classroom of 4.  Then again, who can afford pre-school anymore?

Until next month at which time I will have remembered why I don't visit Fresno and will be able to provide a full report.

October 2011 - Cannon, Aaron & Mindy & Family

We are half way through football season and the Coastal Tritons are undefeated.  Actually.....they were unscored on until yesterday when mercifully the team they were beating 41-0 got into the end zone with about 2 seconds left on the clock.  Jakob plays all over the defensive side of the ball and is having a jolly good time.  School is in full swing and Hannah Grace is in her full preschool glory complete with backpack and lunch pail.  Jakob is old enough to understand that school is horrible but doesn't fully grasp the concept of having at least another 20 years of it in front of him.  Mindy is co-chairing the weekly bake sale at the school so that they can purchase things like pencils and paper.  This means that I purchase the ingredients for the bake sale, then purchase bake sale items at the bake sale.  It's the opposite of double dipping.  Other than that....there is nothing new to report.
Be safe out there......

September 2011 - Cannon, Aaron & Mindy & Family

Hello August.  Goodbye August.

August has been a memorable month for the Cannon family (the real Cannon family.  Not those imposters from up north.)  Football has started again.  Jakob is a year bigger and a year smarter.  This is evidenced by his ability to count ahead during tackling drills and avoiding going up against guys twice his weight.  Brilliant!

Prison is still a horrible awful place to work (I can't even imagine living here) what with all the tarantulas and rattle snakes and blood and sweat and pepper spray and ......I'll just leave it at that
.
We are preparing for school to start.  So far our preparations have included looking at each other and saying "When does school start again?"  We haven't really gotten past that.  Hannah is very excited to start pre-pre-school.  Mindy is excited to have her out of the house.  I am excited to have one more thing to pay for.  Jakob is excited because he is always excited.

I have several friends who join me in the early for am surf sessions.  We usually go out around 545 am and finish at 7ish so we can be at work by 8.  This past thursday we went to one of our favorite spots in mission beach and had a great time.  Then around noon I checked the local San Diego news and see "Great White sighting shuts down Mission Beach."  Huh?  What?  RIGHT WHERE WE WERE 4 HOURS EARLIER!?!?!?!?!  That's right ladies and gentleman.  The Man in the Grey Suit had paid us a visit and we didn't even know.  My other favorite euphemism for Great Whites is "The Landlord."  Then there is also "apex predator" but I don't use that one quite as often.

My parenting book is finished.  We have had interest from two agents.  We will see where it goes.

Anybody interested in joining Adam and myself for a "tough mudder" run in February let Adam know.  We need teammates....in other words people to step in when we start yelling at each other.

July 2011 - Cannon, Aaron & Mindy & Family

Hello June.  Goodbye June.

June has been all baseball all the time in the Cannon home.  Jakob made his first all star team and was immediately greeted with daily 4 hour practices.  His thought was the same as mine....what?  He had a brief little tournament in which he hit a game winning home run (inside the park) and now it's on to football.

Hannah comes with us to the games and appropriately cheers for her big brother and yells at anyone else who is not cheering for her big brother.

Mindy had girls camp and is happy to be done with that.....again.  She is still baking and has a blog out there somewhere with some really cool pictures of some of the stuff she has thrown together.

I ran a marathon in Utah on June 11.  It was a bad idea when I thought of it and it was a bad idea when I was running it and it was a bad idea for about a week after I was finished.  I will never run again.  Not if there is a fire.  Not if there is a riot.  Not if a car comes zooming at me.  Never.

And that's all.

March 2011 - Cannon, Aaron & Mindy & Family

Tjena

February saw Jakob complete his first season of basketball.  It was also an undefeated season where he got his first championship trophy.  It got me to thinking...how many championship trophies do the Sacramento Kings have?  Oh ya, zero.  So lets see here.  Jakob 1.  Kings 0.  That's too bad....for the Kings.

February also saw Hannah Grace kick Buzz Lightyear to the curb.  Well, actually the costume finally fell apart.  She's moved on to regular clothes for now.  As long as I can keep her away from princess dresses I think well be ok.

Mindy got herself into a baking class that is held across the street and she loves it.  You know who doesn't love it?  My cholesterol.
With basketball season ending (did I mention they went undefeated and won the championship?) baseball season is upon us.  I once had a friend ask why we "make" Jake do all these sports.  The answer is simple.  First, he likes it.  Second, if he wasn't doing sports he would be sitting in front of the Xbox all day.  And then I would be forced to join him because the reality is that's all I want to do too.  Then we would be homeless, except for the Xbox, I would make sure to bring that with us.  So if you think of it that way youth sports have kept us from being homeless.  Isn't that nice?

That's all.

February 2011 - Cannon, Aaron & Mindy & Family

Dear Family,

January has been an unusually traumatic time for the Cannon's. You see, Buzz Lightyear is transitioning out of her Buzz costume (which she has worn every day since Halloween......EVERY.........DAY......) and into her Spiderman costume. She's such a little lady! Jakob is currently playing basketball and baseball. Mindy is busy with young womens and her budding baking career. And I do nothing. Just how I like it.

On the bright side...we have had a banner three weeks for surf swell! This of course only affects those of you who live west of the 5. The rest of you can console yourselves by rooting for the Kings or the Jazz. Misguided choices all.

xoxo

November 2010 - Cannon, Aaron & Mindy & Family

Hello family

We have been very busy these past few months. That of course is not why we have neglected to write. We have neglected to write because I put Grandpa in charge of our submissions. I also didn't tell him. This was a social experiment. I wanted to know if you put someone in charge of something or otherwise expect something from someone but don't tell them about it can you reasonably expect that it will be accomplished? The answer, surprisingly, is no. I am using these results in my practice with my couples. What are the odds they will disagree with me?

There is a new favorite football team in the Cannon home. The Coastal Tritons. This is Jakobs youth team. We have been all football all the time. It began in late July with 5 days a week practices. . This went on for about a month and a half. Then it turned into 3 days a week with games on Saturdays. It was fine at first but then they put on pads. The pads make up roughly 1/3 of Jakobs total body weight. It has truly been a learning experience for him. At first, for example, he didn't really know you could move around and hit people. As such he would just stand there until someone twice his size would pummel him. He didn't like that. He quickly learned to bob, weave, duck, dive, and otherwise scrap for his life. He plays as a defensive lineman and it is fun to watch him squirt through the offensive line into the backfield to sometimes make a play and sometimes get lost in the shuffle. He has gone from loving the games and despising the practices to loving the games and hating the practices. Improvement! Sadly it is all coming to a close. Next up....baseball.

Hannah Grace is Hannah Grace. She currently is in love with Iron Man. That's my girl. Inasmuch as things like Iron Man is infinetely cheaper than anything princessy I will continue to support Iron Man.

Mindy is now the Young Womens President. She is doing very well with the girls and has a great relationship with them. I am still in the Bishopric.

We have had many visitors over the last few months. Family for Jakobs Baptism in Sept, Uncle Kevin and Kimber and Mimi and Carlon in late October. Kelly made us part of her west coast tour. It seems I have seen most people except for Grandpa. I think he's ducking me. Maybe he's waiting for the Kings to win a championship before he shows his face again.

I have had the distinct pleasure of doing many different workshops for free I mean for the church over the last several months. Topics include keeping your teens safe from bad guys, communication, happiness, effective parenting, blah blah blah. My hope is someday someone will pay me for this stuff. Unlikely since I am Mormon and we tend to do our best work for free.

Till next time I mean month!

May 2010 - Cannon, Aaron & Mindy & Family

Hello all...

Baseball season is in full swing in the Cannon home. Southern California is CRAZY for baseball and we are stuck right in the middle. We have practice 2-3 times a week as well as 2 games a week until the middle of June I believe and then it's the playoffs. We have been going strong since March. While this doesn't SOUND like that big of a deal....these kids are 6 and 7. Gone are the days when everyone wears number one, everyone hits, everyone scores, everyone is a winner. Hello winners and losers! Those of you with access to Facebook will have followed several of Jakobs exploits this season already so I wont bore you with a recap. Hannah gets even more excited than Jakob for "Jakob plays baseball!". She has his Jersey from last year, his hat from like 3 years ago, and a pink mitt that she wears while he is playing. Good times.

Work for me is the same. Teaching, practicing, treating, writing, presenting, blah blah blah. Last week I personally had the experience of witnessing three inmates get slashed. Remember though, they are all just poor misunderstood souls. They are very grateful to each and every one of you for paying their medical bills for the rest of their lives while they continue to go about robbing, stealing, kililng, etc.
We are looking forward to getting our furloughs back and getting that extra 14% that Arnold has been stealing from us.

I was recently examining the landscape of the NBA playoffs and I couldn't find the Sacramento Kings anywhere? What happened? Are they terrible again? There is always room on the Laker Bandwagon for those of you that wanna hop on. Remember, I'm driving it!

Mindy is starting a baking company where she makes sugar cookies and cupcakes with beautiful designs on them. She was asked to donate for the school auction and slowly her name is getting out there. She's very exited (and nervous).

As I read the different submissions from month to month I feel that our newsletter is really missing an element that I find in most other family newsletters. It took me a while to put my finger on it as we have so many elements that seem to be consistent across families. Things like a....a cantankerous patriarch....check! Sibling rivalries....check! etc. etc. But that one piece.....what is it.....oh that's right! I remember!

Our Family is better than yours!

December 2009 - Cannon, Aaron & Mindy & Family

So we recently had a ginormous swell come through that kicked up 9-12 foot waves. I was unaware of this until I was already out in the water (I knew it was going to be big....I didn't know it was going to be THAT BIG). 6-8 is officially my max height. I can also report that I can hold my breath for a really long time.

On a related note the second counselor in our bishopric owns a sport fishing company and was out in a tournament when his 35 foot 12 ton boat got tossed like a ragdoll and capsized. Miraculously, they survived for 20 minutes getting pounded by the surf before the lifeguards could get to them. The waves capsized one of the lifeguard boats as well. We belong to a church that believes in miracles. This is a good thing because it's gonna take a miracle for Grandpa to survive another Sacramento Kings season. Wow is that team bad. For 30 years I have been telling Grandpa that I have been saving him a seat on the Lakers Bandwagon. He's stubborn.

Our family is good. It rained over the weekend and boy am I glad we got that out of the way. Rain more than once a year is too much I think.

Hannah is in full talking mode. She says things like "I could reach it" when she clearly can't. "Could I have it?" when she knows she can't. And most disheartening...."Wubzy!" when she wants to watch wow wow wubzy which is......always. I wonder if this is how Dad felt about the smurfs.

November 2009 - Cannon, Aaron & Mindy & Family

The first two weeks of October were spent on Vacation. This is the first time in my entire life I have taken a two week vacation. They are 10x better than a one week vacation instead of just 2x better like I had expected. I felt like I was better prepared to go back to work and suffer the shankings, yelling, screaming, banging, cursing, pooping, peeing, gassing, (*&^(&*^ing, !@#(%*$!ing, etc. I am now very jealous of grandpa who is, of course, on a permanent vacation. Lucccccckkkkkeeeeee.

Jakob continues to make his way through the first grade. Hannah continues to make her way through her mother’s nerves. Mindy continues to make her way through motherhood.

And that's all I have to say about that.

October 2009 - Cannon, Aaron & Mindy & Family

Ah September....Such wonderful things have happened in the history of the world in September. The Salem Witch hunts were a September occurrence. The Spanish Inquisition began in Sept. WW I and WW II both kicked off in September. I distinctly remember that school always began in September (and still does). Lunatic Terrorists attacked us on the 11th of September. And last but not least, Adam was born in September (as was Kimber, which I believe bolsters my argument). Actually that's all made up, except for the last four. Regardless, nothing good happens in September. Which brings us to this September. Nothing good happened. Happily nothing terrible happened either so we will just be grateful for that.

I continue to be asked to do presentations for various and sundry LDS leadership organizations (stake leadership here, Relief Society Stake Presidencies there) as well as the CA. YSA presentation I did last month. Sooner or later somebody has to figure out that I am making my presentations up as I go along and stop asking.....right? Maybe when Grandpa gets to the other side he can put a stop to this silliness. (And when I say "The other side" I don't mean the other side of I-5. He already blew that assignment.)

Jakob started school (again, in Sept) and Hannah is very mischievous. For his birthday Jakob wanted spy gear so he could "spy on Hannah's mischief." Surprisingly she is undeterred and undaunted. Clearly a Woodward trait.

And finally, all you who keep trying to get me to confirm that we are related on Facebook....plz stop. I don't want people to know I know you, let alone am related to you. Just kidding (except for Adam, I really did reject that one.)
Happy October!

September 2009 - Cannon, Aaron & Mindy & Family

The Cannons are doing well....

Jakob turns 7 this month. He had a great pool party but he seems to have an affinity for the ocean. He took his first surf lesson this month and was standing on his board by the end of it. Pretty soon he will be joining me on Friday Mornings! I had the opportunity (and by opportunity I mean I was volunteered) to speak at the state wide California Young Single Adult Conference in the Priesthood Session. There were roughly 6-700 priesthood holders in the audience, but I didn't see anyone appropriate for Cassie. Then again, I wasn't looking too closely as I was moderately anxious.

My first book is completed and in the hands of my co-author. If he ever decides to do anything with it is up to him. I am well into my second book and am much more excited about this one. Let’s hope it works out well because going to prison every day sucks.

I played in the 12 annual Tournament of the Golden Pony this month with Mindy's brother and came off conquerer!

Mindy is excited and a little apprehensive about sending Jake back to school for the first grade. She can't wait, however, to get Hannah into pre-school.
All is well here as we await the end of summer (which really only means we get our beaches back!)

July 2009 - Cannon, Aaron & Mindy & Family

To Whom It May Concern:

This note is to inform you that The Cannon Family (San Diego Version) is alive and well, if barely. We are very excited for the Governors third furlough day to kick in. Nothing boosts morale like knowing you are working for free three days a month. Happily I work in an environment that is very uplifting and Psych staff is generally beloved by all. The officers love to have us there, the inmates love to have us there, the Psych MD's love to have us there, and our Supervisors love to have us there. I know this because they all treat us like professionals and are always very helpful. Good time to be a state employee. Unless you are a CHiP, then it really is a good time to be a state employee.

The Baby has lost her Baby Mind. Yesterday she jumped out of her mothers arms and made a beeline for the pool......and into the pool and straight to the bottom. When her mother pulled her out you would expect a gasping terrified baby....instead The Baby who has lost her Baby Mind looked at her mother in disgust because she ruined her drowning game. Crazy Baby.

Jakob is enjoying life without school. I don't think his mother shares those sentiments.

Mindy is working hard to keep everyone alive (see above referenced story about the Baby who has lost her Baby Mind).

I have finished my first book and we are actively shopping it. I am in the middle my second book's proposal. This one is about keeping your kids safe in the 21st century given that most of the dangers ours kids face didn't exist when I was a kid and spending 40 hours a week inside the bad guys heads gives me a certain advantage over the bad guys. We have one interested publisher. There are 2-3 other books in my head but nothing good ever really comes outta my head so we might just keep them there.

For every one interested we are surfing every Friday morning at Tourmaline. We are in the water by 6:15am. See ya there! Grandpa, this means you.

April 2009 - Cannon, Aaron & Mindy & Family

Ah yes, March. It's a grand month. The weather is beautiful, 72 and sunny. Spring breakers officially start to come and invade our beaches. And my good friend the Governor is still stealing 10% of my paycheck from me. I have recently started a Friday morning ritual where I meet two friends of mine at about 6am and we surf until I gotta be at LDS Family Services. My good friend Dr. O is Catholic. My good friend Dr. S. is Jewish. They both work with me at the Prison. My new favorite joke starts like this...stop me if you have heard it. A Mormon, A Jew, and A Catholic go surfing......
I don't have a punchline yet, let me know if you think of one.

I took Jakob skiing today. His first real time as his last time he was 3 and spent the day with me just lifting him up as he skied between my skis. Right about the time I stopped nagging him and left him alone is about the time he figured out what he was doing and took off down the mountain. And didn't crash. And didn't kill anyone, including himself. Next up....Surfing!

Emily and her husband came to visit briefly this month. My mother might have been here too, although that could just as easily have been last month. I don't remember. You know what they say is the first thing to go when you get older.....I don't remember.
Not much else to report here. Until next month when I will certainly report drastic weather changes.

February 2009 - Cannon, Aaron & Mindy & Family

Let’s see here, it's February and I think I should be reporting on the January Happenings. Nothing happened in January. December was busy though. Mindy's family came to visit us here in Sunny SD (west of the 5). There were 22 of them. I was experiencing severe PTSD related to previous experiences in my life when thousands of family members would descend on our home. They were here for 10 days. In my mind that is 20 more people who stayed 9 days too long.

We were able to wrangle tickets to the Chargers/Colts playoff game here in SD. That was lots of fun. Most notably I would come home every day from work and there would be 20 people in our pool to which I would say "It's December...Get out of the pool you people from Utah!" Then I remembered that we live west of the 5 and that the temperature was 75 degrees and it was sunny. Then I would look at my nieces, nephews, and in-laws and say "It's December....Get out of the pool you people from Utah!"
They didn't listen. All joking aside.....never mind. There is no "All joking aside." What an absurd thing to say.

I am enjoying my job while I still have it. The word is Arnold is going to fire all State Workers and do everyone's job himself. Good lookin’ out Arnold.

Adam and Erica and three little girls came to visit a couple weekends ago. I don't know whose little girls they were. They are way too cute to belong to Adam.

I've recently started surfing again. It has become painfully obvious that my wetsuit was purchased roughly 50 pounds ago. To say I look like Gumby doesn't even begin to cover it.

And finally both of my recent radio appearances are on the net. You can listen if you like but remember this....everything I say is made up. It's a skill I learned from Grandpa.

Cannon, Aaron & Mindy & Family

So, uhhhhhhhhhhh, we bought a house.

We entered escrow in june and closed the 28th of October. I have never purchased a home before, but isn't that a bit long? Our purchase price is about 350k less than the tax appraisal for 2007. And the place was built in 07. Mindy's mom came down and we cleaned and taped and painted and moved all in one week. Quite a feat I would say. Poor Hannah was almost to the point were she didn't recognize us anymore.

Apparently we are the last two people in America to get a loan, and by two I mean one since it was just me on the application. I asked if I could include grandpa on the application but they said "No, we are not in the habit of loaning money to people who root for the Sacramento Kings. Thats called poor decision making." Thanks for nothing. When I told them I was a Laker fan they then said "Oh sure, here's the money. No please, don't worry about paying it back. Just send us some money when you have it. No No, we trust you. (You should be thinking Eddie Murphy and SNL.) I know I know, you are asking why in the world would anybody purchase a home knowing that their taxes are about to go through the roof thereby making their ability to continue to make mortgage payments nearly impossible? Ill tell ya....I have a plan. My previous plan was to work as hard as possible knowing that in America we reward hard work with success. I am officially up to 4 jobs (Prison, University of Phoenix, LDS Family Services, and I am working on a book with a friend). Silly me.

My new, and much better plan, is to quit all my jobs and let you fine people pay for our new house. Genius, no? Thank you in advance for your support. And no, I don't expect you to volunteer your money. My new friend Barak Hoover is going to take it from you and give it to me.

I know many of you were waiting anxiously to hear of our new address. Yes, we are west of the 5. Point Loma officially. I had requested a change of ward boundaries at the very least as that is the most certain way to get a new calling but my family overruled me. Jakob has been swimming in the pool every night for the last month. It's the end of November, isn't it? It can't possibly still be that warm. But it is.

Speaking of work, if you go to:

sometime within the next few weeks you will hear a radio show I did with a friend of mine who is a financial planner and has a weekly radio show. He asked me to come and speak about some of the Psychological principles related to wealth. It officially airs Sunday November 30th and will be posted a few weeks later.

Jakob was the "Most improved student" for his school for October. His handwriting is starting to look less like mine and more like humans. I think that was the basis for the award. Hannah is fearless. I know most babies are fearless but this one is much more fearless than her big brother. This has me a bit worried.

Mindy is enjoying turning her new house into a home. And I am killing myself trying to pay for this fiasco.

September 2008 - Cannon, Aaron & Mindy & Family

Hello Family. Hello Friends. Hello Adam

We have very exciting news to share this month! Wait a minute. No we don't. I can tell you this however. Buying a home is an absurd process filled with lunatic fees, shmarms, sheisters, hucksters, and crackheads. As a result of our foray into this process I have decided to totally change the way I do business. The following fees will immediately be charged:

-Diagnosis fee
-Assessment fee
-Medical records review fee
-Documentation fee
-Your boring me fee
-What in the world are you talking about fee
-I don't think that's true fee
-Sitting fee
-Thinking fee
-Because I can fee
-and so on and so forth....fee

No wonder the housing market is el crasho (that’s Spanish for crashed. I grew up in Fresno. I know Spanish.) These people are unbelievable. I think we close in three weeks. Who knows.

Other than that, all is well.

Jakob, Hannah, Mindy and Aaron

p.s. I’m charging Grandpa a fee for always being on my case. Cash only please.

July 2008 - Cannon, Aaron & Mindy & Family

I decided this month to list the members of my family in relation to how much they cost me. I don't know which is the greater injustice, the price of gasoline or the price of baby formula. Wait a minute, I do know! The price of Mindy's haircuts! Wow, that was easy.

We attended the US Open here at Torrey Pines at the beginning of June. It was an incredible event and we had a lot of fun. Those guys are good.

We are planning a trip down the south fork of the American River sometime in July. It will be a whirlwind trip that will cost me several hundred dollars, but I am looking forward to it.

We have been house hunting here in the Point Loma area where we live. I made an impassioned plea to leave the area as it is 1) Absurdly expensive and 2) A surefire way to be released from my calling. My spouse has not been very understanding in this matter and so we continue to look at 1000 sf homes for half a million dollars that were built fifty years ago. Oh, if only I were exaggerating. The boys old enough, maybe he can skip school and go get a job. Or if Mindy stops getting her hair cut.... The good news is that if we do purchase something and are then by default house poor we live so close to the beach that we wouldn't need to spend money on other things like food (fish from the sea are free), entertainment (surfing and swimming in the ocean is free), electricity (attach a generator to Jakob), Gasoline (it's only 2.50 in Mexico...of course you may get kidnapped and I am pretty sure its not really gasoline. The word goat piss comes to mind) I wrote that so Grandpa can get mad at me. I know he has been struggling for reasons to get after me. I thought I would make it easy on him. Your Welcome.

And that's all.

April 2008 - Cannon, Aaron & Mindy & Family

Due to a family trip to Utah The Cannons will not be participating in this months newsletter. Assuming we survive the trek you will be able to tune in next month for details on Jakobs exploits as well as whether or not Hannah survived the 14 hour ordeal. In the meantime, Grandpa can tell you some "stories" about our trip. Why not? Our stories and his stories are likely to be equally accurate.
